Yates, World's Greatest Cylinder Co., Taking Over Georgia and Southeast
St. Clair Shores, MI - May 2014
Yates Industries has acquired certain assets of Georgia Hydraulic International and is setting up new operations in Atlanta, Georgia and is currently taking orders. In the lead up to this expansion news, Yates had just been featured on TV and on social media channels as the World's Greatest Cylinder Manufacturer.
Yates Industries, the leading industrial cylinder manufacturer in the Midwest, announced they have expanded to include Atlanta, Georgia. They have recently acquired certain assets of Georgia Hydraulics International and are in the process of setting up new operations in Atlanta, expanding their reach to more customers in the Southeast.
"This is a very exciting time for us here," said Steve Cavera, Yates Industries National Sales Manager. "With this strategic acquisition we will be able to effectively increase our manufacturing and repair servicing capabilities."
Yates Industries' main plant is headquartered in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan. A second facility, Yates Cylinders, is located in Decatur, Alabama. Between these two locations they already do high-speed turnarounds on cylinder repairs and customized cylinder manufacturing faster than most of their competitors. Adding the new operations in the Southeastern U.S. further increases these capabilities.
Yates also expanded their renowned customer service with increased social media presence on YouTube, Google+, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, so customers can find them and communicate like never before.
As a growing family-owned American manufacturer they had also attracted the attention of the "World's Greatest!" TV show earlier this year, which featured them in a segment on television in May.
"Their film crew came out to our Saint Clair Shores world headquarters to highlight the team behind our 40-plus years of growth," said Yates Industries, Inc. President, William Yates III. "We were happy to be named "The World's Greatest" Cylinder Manufacturer and put the spotlight on who put us there – our people."
The company was featured on episode 198 of the series, which recently aired on ION Television and is now showing on Yates Industries' YouTube Channel and website.
"Yates is a leader in the repair and manufacture of all kinds of industrial cylinders and they've been at it for 42 years. They recently updated plants and equipment and have expansion plans that will make their service to all industries even better. We think theirs is an American Manufacturing success story that will be meaningful and educational to viewers," said Gordon Freeman, Executive Producer of the show.
Even with their full embrace of social media and the recent TV coverage, Yates' focus has always been the old-fashioned, belly-to-belly kind of sales and service. Their annual appearance at AISTech 2014 was no exception, with the company President and Vice President both there for face-to-face time with their large customer base in the steel industry.
"With all of our outreach and the new Georgia operations we are definitely poised for even more growth. But what is most important to us is the addition of a comprehensive welded cylinder line providing our customers with more options and better service," Cavera added.
